Jonah's Rooster Jonah's owl Well, the sun is super hot here and we're just trying to survive! The boys are getting baptized this Saturday at 9 am (*time change) at the Stake Center. My Parents and sister Amy are coming into town and we are super excited! We are even getting the carpets cleaned for the event! I know- wow, huh? My sister Amy is bringing her 4 month old Quincy who we haven't met yet and I'm excited to hold and love on him! And her five yr old too! We also have 2 other nieces/nephews we haven't met yet either- Chloe and Brian! We'll have to change that soon! Recap of what we've done this week- *Went to see Happy Feet 2. Fun movie- loved the sound track! *Went to IKEA and bought a new crib since the State of Arizona won't approve cribs whose sides drop down- which ours does. Good Morning! I quickly wanted to post a few "I love it" links on my blog this morning. How was your weekend? Mine was great. Busy, but great! We watched all 4 sessions of Conference (each 2 hrs long). I had written down 3 questions and 2 had specific talks dedicated to them and the 3rd was answered very clearly. Now that I have the answers, I have to go to work! The kids did pretty well, thanks to a trip to the library between Saturday for books to read and crafts to make crafts out of (you should see Ethan's snake!). Sunday night the kids all drew pictures of what our family would look like with another foster/adopted child to turn in today. They turned out really well. Blogs are like books- you can never get enough of them. They are always there- tempting you with their treasures, tantalizing you with their home decorating/crafting/baking ideas. And Pinterest? It is the new library at my fingertips. Within a minute I can be directed to two or three new crafty blogs. ones I've never heard of . I step into a new world, bookmark it so i can find it again and fall in love. I've only re-pinned blogs- I just downloaded my pin it bar the other day. No longer do I have to bookmark sites to find them and fall in love over and over. Now i can just pin them. And they are organized too! My Mom asked what my gift was that I sent out for my celebration post- it was rice krispies made out of one of my new favs- Caramel/Vanillla marshmallows ! I normally add a little vanilla but when I used these marshmallows I didn't have to! They are completely heavenly and I adore them! I ate them one at a time, but then had to use them all up so I wouldn't be tempted any longer. Our local Super Walmart actually has a section of an aisle dedicated to marshmallows. There are mini chocolate and mint marshmallows- perfect for a cup of Stephens Hot Cocoa (in December here). There are bags of chocolate coated mini marshmallows and even marshmallow shaped fruit. Josh and I were gaping in the aisle at so many different varieties. Only in America, we chimed! I also topped it with another of my favorties- candy corn pumpkins !! Guess what my favorite cereal is now? Fruit Loops with Marshmallows! I know, right??? What more could be better than adding marshmallows to the sugary goodness that is Fruit Loops? Actually Fruit Loops is my all time favorite sugar cereal. In our home growing up we always got to pick our favorite breakfast for our birthday. I always picked Fruit Loops. We never really got name brand cereal (at least when I was growing up) so Fruit Loops was always a treat. Of course, Frankenberry and Reeses Peanut Butter Puffs are also high on the list (Halloween flavored cereal and candy cereal- yes, please!). I bought this box for the kids to make necklaces out of it, so of course they picked out the marshmallows and ate them while they were making the necklaces and I say go for it!!! I couldn't bear to eat it in the morning, but I did have some for a snack (I had to save a bowl- mind you) and it was actually pretty good! A great dessert! With baby giraffes! Whenever I see one, it makes me smile! I bought a small, hard figurine one at Sears the other day. I really needed some cheering up and for $6.99, it wasn't too steep of a price to pay! Whenever I see it, it makes me smile! Martha Stewart. The first magazine subscription I ever received was for Martha Stewart's Living. I had been married for about four months and was so ready to get into the hobby of making a house and home for my dear sweet hubby. I mentioned to him that I wanted a subscription one day. My birthday came- six days before Christmas (poor guy usually has to buy me 2 gifts this season!) and I was lying in bed after a long day of teaching 3rd grade. Josh came home from his studies of his junior year at BYU and presented me with a beautiful sweater box. "Oh, great. A sweater." is what I surely thought. To my surprise and delight, it was not a sweater! It was the December 2001 edition of Living, along with a year long subscription, and some chocolates. One of the most perfect presents I have received- that and my diamond ring, a baby girl, twin boys, happy Asher, and the nightgown I got for Christmas that year as well. I have renewed my subscription every year since then. Love it...
