A little more Easter

Image
We still had some gold foil left over from when we finished Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and I intended to make golden tickets in chocolate bars. The foil was too thin and square for me to work with, so when the kids suggested golden eggs, we were able to make it happen! Elizabeth with her Easter basket on Easter morning- with no glasses! She often stumbles out of bed and races to the kitchen for breakfast without her spectacles. Twice I have had to run home from dropping her off at school and bring them to her. I didn't even notice she had no glasses on! The boys! They are still the boys. I said to Josh the other day "I'll take Elizabeth and you take the boys." Asher said "What about me?" Yes, Asher, you are one of the boys too! I refer to Ethan and Jonah as the boys and all 3 as the boys as well. Phew. Josh and Elizabeth Asher and his dollar shades from the Easter bunny! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Happy Easter!

Sunday, right after Church, we piled into the car and drove down to the temple for a picnic lunch and a walk around the grounds. Josh and I had just gone the night before and it was so lovely and warm we wanted to share it with the kids. At 1 pm it was downright hot and a little muggy, but we still had fun. It was a lovely Easter! Christ has risen! Ethan, Asher, Elizabeth and Jonah on Easter Sunday. Elizabeth Elizabeth and I. Moroni Dogwood picture taken by Josh. He's been reading my book on exposure and trying things out! I can learn a lot from him! We love these dogwoods that surround the temple. There is even one outside our guest bedroom I never knew was a dogwood. So pretty! on a gazebo near the temple Elizabeth, relaxing in the shade. You'll have to forgive my beginning photography skills. The first shot is over exposed and the second is under exposed. Sheesh. This photography thing is a lot harder than I thought. I have turned my camera to manual or the Av setting and ha...

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Image
St.Patrick's Day brought us: Picture taking with my four little leprechauns. Asher, Ethan, Elizabeth and Jonah (They used to be teeny-tiny, now they are all getting so big! Asher will be in Kindergarten next year- aaaahhh!) A crazy picture! ***Picture too blurry to post*** A green shamrock shake for Asher (and a little for me!) A free oatmeal from McDonalds. It was gone in about 2 seconds flat- delish with cranberries, apples, brown sugar and raisins. Loved that it was free. Irish Soda Bread. A tradition in our family since we are part Irish- anyone know how much? (My maiden name is Hulihan. Um, yeah. Pretty Irish for you!) Last year I made it and it turned out like a rock. This year I treated it like biscuits, only mixing it with one hand and it came out dreamy! Right out of the oven with melted butter- mmm. A late night run to the store to replace these. Why did I get the same ones? I had to shop without him and knew that he would wear those ones. Hope you had a good one, Everyon...

Merry Christmas!

Sometimes I think that I can't blog without pictures. It's late at night or early in the morning, on Dec. 26th- the day after Christmas, and I'm awake. I was so tired, I fell into bed right after the kids went down- 8:20 pm-ish- and woke up around 12 am when Asher wanted his blankets put back on and couldn't get back to sleep. Christmas was- what was the word you called it Josh- incredible? amazing? great? I can't remember just now, but you're right- Josh- it was. It was all those things. The kids were somehow very energetic and ecstatic this year. They woke up on and off from 5:30 am on (one of the reasons why I was so tired). I had to tell them it wasn't time yet. Elizabeth slept through it all- she always does. Let me back track- Christmas Eve was wonderful and busy. A family that are friends of ours have been in the process of moving and redoing their house before they leave. We've been helping them out, so their kids spent the night while their Pare...
