Depression

This blog has always been a place where I have felt that I can go to, to express my feelings, to talk about things that are important with me, to share what is going on in my life and in the life of my family. As I share this post, please read with an open and kind heart. Yesterday I found out that one of my friends who I was in the out-patient program of the Hospital last year committed suicide this summer. Background: when you are in a program at the Hospital you get to know a lot about everyone there and become really close to them. It's almost like AA. You are struggling, they are struggling and you work together to work this thing out. When one succeeds, their success is your success as well. When one falters, you pick them up again and move on together. It is hard time in your life- going through Depression or Mania and to be at the point where nothing can help you except the help of medical professionals at the Hospital. During my 3 weeks as an out-patient on the Mental Healt...

My D &C

Well, I feel a little loopy now, but I'm back home safe and sound. Today was my scheduled D & C. Ellen drove me around up to Frederick Memorial Hospital (that's where my Dr. works) around 9 am in the rain. They called my number and couldn't give me any paperwork since the computers were down, but sent me to the surgery desk anyways. I gues someone had a car accident and hit a pole. It was out for two hours. Pretty crazy. Let me tell you about hospitals. I generally dislike them. I don't like the sterile walls, the smells, the sights, the sound...

April 2007, Grandma- who is watching the kids- and Elizabeth Yesterday, at the hospital, on the in-patient side of floor #6 at Montgomery General Hospital (aka Monkey General), we were all asked to state our name and a mantra we live by. I said that I'm Megan (obviously) and that my mantra was "The best is yet to come." A few others were "stuff happens" and "don't worry. be happy." I would say that also if I was an in-patient at the hospital! Seeing what the patients who were omitted are like, I've realized that I haven't gotten bad enough to actually be admitted into the hospital. I like the hospital. The food is good there and the people are nice. I've decided that I will probably do their 0.h.p.- outpatient hospital program- which is only MWF from 9-12:45 pm. next week. Esperanzaa- alady in our ward has a small daycare and could watch them for me, since my Mom leaves tomorrow! There are three levels of care goi...
