Happiness

​ It was our 25th Wedding Anniversary on August 4th! We’ve had a lot of talk about wedding on here lately but it must just be wedding season! 25 years ago Josh and I got married in the Bountiful Temple. It was lovely warm, windy day. Everyone came out to support us and we felt loved and cared for. Fast forward 25 years. We are living in Arizona, we have 6 children- 3 living away from home and 3 at home with one returned missionary. Josh has a job as a student advisor for ASU Law school and I am currently looking for work. We focus on our lives on the Savior and His Atonement. We love Him so very much!  We celebrated by going to dinner in Phoenix. Happy Anniversary, Babe! I love you! 

We celebrated our 22nd anniversary on the 4th of August. That night we went to a Church adult game party (getting a babysitter since Asher and Elizabeth both work weekends). It was really fun and we played a few games including Poetry for Neanderthals. It was fun! The night day (after finding another babysitter- which is hard to do since there are not a lot of Young Women in the ward), we went to the Temple and did sealings. It was lovely and so nice to be inside the Temple. A neighborhood boy heard that we were going to the Temple and he asked "Can't only Mormons go inside?" We happily explained that we are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. After the Temple we then headed to Crazy Koi, a fun ramen restaurant. After walking in the crazy 112 heat even at 6 pm, we went and it was packed- with blaring music. Not what I pictured for a romantic date night. ** This post was written on February 4th, 2023** Twenty two years ago today, Josh and I met. We were both attending BYU Provo- Josh majoring in Math and I was majoring in Elementary Education. I had just returned from my LDS mission to Bilbao, Spain in July of the year before (2000- what an awesome year!) and Josh had just returned from his LDS mission in September and this was his first semester back at the Y. We met at a surprise birthday party for my roommate. She invited a lot of people to come who lived in our apartment complex (we both lived in Centennial 2 just South of Campus). He came over and we introduced ourselves. He said that his major was math. I was nervous we would have nothing in common. Oh, when I first saw him earlier, I was wondering if anyone cute had move into our apartments. I saw him with his glasses on and said "nope!" We like to laugh at that! Yesterday, Josh & I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary! Wahoo!!! It was a warm, sunny, windy day that day in August when we got married in the LDS Temple in Bountiful, Utah. The wind made for some great wedding pictures as it had my veil flying all over! The weather was a bit different last night as well. We had planned a picnic on the beach and a romantic stroll hand in hand complete with discussions about where our life has been and where it is going.  Instead, the fog at Morro Bay beach was thick and grey, as usual Josh informed me. We had a great picnic with food from Trader Joe's and watched the surfers catch and crash on the waves. It confirmed a desire to learn how to surf. I have no idea why! We decided to take a stroll down the beach and back. The fog was so thick that the sand squeaked (have you ever heard sand squeak?! I haven't!) and the fog soaked my hair in minutes. It was so weird! My husband didn't know what to think of my weepy post. I told him it's just hormones. No worries. Thank you so much for your comment, dear Reader-who-has-been-lurking. Knowing that my trials have helped someone else is really a comfort to me. Sometimes there is purpose to pain. As I mentioned Thursday, it was 11 years ago that Josh and I met. We were both BYU students- I was finishing up with my degree in El. Education with a goal to get married before I was done (poor, unsuspecting Josh) and he was in his first semester back from a mission to Recife, Brazil and definitely planning on taking his full last two years to find a wife. We met at a surprise birthday party that Sunday afternoon and ran into each other again in the evening at a casual hangout. He tossed out a joke about red heads and apologized for offending me. I was not offending seeing as I was a blonde. (although I learned later that if you don't leave blonde hair dye in long enough you get a reddish hue. Anywa...

Here are my thoughts for today: numbered. I am so happy! It's fun being mildly manic. Yes, I was diagnosed as being Bi-Polar on Friday. But hey, man, it's better than just having depression. She is adorable, sweet, mild tempered, loves to dance, walks a ton, says "mama" when she doesn't know where Ellen is, knows airplanes in and out, knows how to pop her own ears, makes a funny bllhhh sound with her tongue that she learned from Sabrina, her almost 3 year old cousin and looks adorable in red!
