Fall Update

Image
I haven’t blogged in here for awhile. But, now I’m back! Hopefully you are all still with me.  Life has been busy! I’ll just briefly hit the highlights and then move on from there! Elizabeth turned 23! Hooray! Ethan came home from selling pest control and started working at In n Out. He and Jonah left together for BYU Provo in August and are rooming together. They are having the best time! We sure miss them though.  Asher had three areas and four new companions and hit his one year mark in September! He’s doing awesome! School started and with is Declan started 6th grade and Rosie started Kindergarten half day in a Montessori program. They both love school and say those exact words “I love school!” What a blessing to have found a great fit for these kiddos. Josh continues to work and take a few classes each semester for his PhD program in Complex Adaptive Systems. He absolutely loves school too! I have been staying home- cleaning the house, exercising, resting and reading. It’...

Our morning walk

Image
Fall gold colors On a morning walk. This is the cliff in Draper that backs our house and people paraglide from. I would love to do this- if my body wasn't so scared of heights (or is it my mind?). Here's our row of houses. They are packed together like sardines, but we are loving living here! The people are great, the school is wonderful and our Church ward is amazing! My walking buddy. My other walking buddy. She loves chasing out the birds in these fields. Walking home. And that was a morning walk with us. Hope you enjoyed it!

First week of October

Image
The Saturday before October began, Elizabeth and I had the chance to go to the General Women's Meeting of General Conference. It was great to have her by my side and the talks were lovely! She is such a lovely girl! Declan and I went to the Naturopath on last Friday. My toxins are resolved but I still have my headache. My case frustrates them- as well as me! They think it may be my estrogen levels and and it came back high. Still unresolved though. Poor doctors, I give them such a rough case! 😉 Asher had his first pine wood derby in scouts. We moved right before the one last year. We loved his idea of a couch. It wasn't the fastest, but Asher had a super great attitude about it! Good job, Asher! Jonah created this piece of art for Utah's reflections contest. I'm impressed! I had to encourage him to enter it, but he did it! Don't you love the hats on these pumpkins? I love October!

Lately

Image
Lately. My posts entitled lately get the fewest views, but I'm posting one anyways! Lately: I've come to terms with the fact that there will be no baby coming May. I'm okay with it and my heart feels at peace. It was stormy and rainy last week and sunny and 85 this week. Elizabeth said the other day- "that's it! Utah weather is crazy! I'm wearing shorts!" I'm okay with the but I did pack away all of their flip flops. Declan has turned into a screamer and will scream for whatever he wants. I sat him down yesterday, looked him in the eye and told him that was not okay. He's been better ever since. I take some natural supplements for my headache and my xenotoxicity- did I mention that here already? I went to a naturopath who did a body scan and said I was super healthy except my body takes in toxins instead of estrogen. This can lead to infertility, headaches, acne, etc. I was pregnant at the time so I couldn't take very much and now I am taking t...

Playing in the Leaves

Image
Running! Jonah liked to pull the leaves over his face and hide and then surprise people. Elizabeth in her jammies, because they had a pajama party at school. Asher Ethan Ever since we moved to Maryland we now deal with tons of leaves! They start falling around the beginning of October and end in November. After the first year of raking, we bought a leaf blower and that has helped a ton with our Maple Oak leaves that are thin and tiny. A week ago we raked all the leaves. We put them into the street and then a truck comes by and sucks them all up. It's pretty cool. All our neighbors were doing it at the same time, so it felt good to get it done! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.
