This is the story of the birth of our last and final baby. Going into this Pregnancy, I knew things would be a little different. At our first appointment, my Dr mentioned that I would probably get induced around 39 weeks. Having had a wonderful natural childbirth (via Hynpobabies) the previous time, I was struck with a feeling of amazement coupled with a little bit of fear and trepidation. I don't like to go against what Doctors and professionals advise me to do.  And so, after not feeling good about this Dr, I switched to a practice that had midwives. Around 32 weeks along, one of my Drs also mentioned that it was their practice to always induce Moms who were 42 years old at 39 weeks. I did not want to get induced. I didn't like the idea of using drugs to get labor started and I knew that it would make it ten times harder for me to go natural. I knew that I could just stay at home and not go in for my induction date but I did not feel good about that. I ...

I use this blog as a record of our family. Here is a video of Rosie at 3 months that we can all look back on. Babies grow so fast! My oldest is almost 18! 😯

Rosalind Grace was born on Saturday, March 7th at 11:58 am weighing 7 lbs 6 oz with lots of blonde hair. She is such a sweetie and we are SO glad to finally have her here healthy and well!  The kids love her and have helped out a lot! Josh took the time to write down her birth story so I will share it here in the future so that we can always remember it!

We will be headed to the Hospital to meet our newest daughter! I have never had an induction before but this time around, circumstances require it. Nervously, I prayed about the decision and felt that all would be well if we went through with an induction. I have been using these few days- and weeks- beforehand to get everything ready. We’ve washed clothes, repacked my bags, set up the crib, bought a new battery for the new-to-us baby rocker and even painted my nails (a tiny detail)! I’ve been trying to eat clean and healthy, go for walks in the fresh air, spend extra time with my little one Declan- and my big ones too- and drink lots of water. Birth day, here we come!!

Don't EVER let anyone tell you what you can and cannot do. I had a doctor tell me that I was too old to have more children- at the age of 40. I mentioned that my Sister-in-Law had a baby at 43. She said that that was rare and an abnormality. I switched Dr's. My new Dr's wife was 40 and had just given birth to their 7th child. He happily wrote up some tests for us and was lovingly encouraging and helpful. Good doctor make such a great difference! We found out that we had some issues and it took us a good 16 months to work them out, but it worked! Some things I have noticed while being pregnant and {older}: -The chances of having twins are higher. This pregnancy started out early on as twins and one baby made it through.  - I get winded by just walking up the stairs and a day of subbing puts me out of commission not just for that day but for the day after as well! -If I walk longer than ten minutes, my belly starts to cramp. I’m at home with Declan who is sick. He has a cough and stuffy nose and is very fascinated by googling pictures of germs! What a boy! Yesterday he woke up and said: “Mom, I am inviting the Easter Bunny to my birthday party so I can see his face.” Lol! This kid has such an amazing imagination! It’s a start of a new week! I have decided to get some life coaching to help me with my big hairy goals of running a marathon and paying off our credit cards. I found several life coaches online who do coaching for free to get some practice in and have signed up with 3 of them! I will see who I like the best and stick with them. Here’s to reaching our goals and shooting for the stars! Also this week I have my 32 week Dr appt and ultrasound. Since I am 42, I will be going to a lot of these from now on! I am getting excited and can’t wait until baby gets here! We bought a crib and mattress from an auction online and it’s pretty cute, if I don’t say so myself! Life is good!
