Found Treasures

Image
I was cleaning under my bed the other day, getting ready to pack things up, when I came upon these dusty cute 6 month old pictures of Ethan and Jonah. So cute! I miss those cute little chubby baby faces! Look at the drool on Jonah! Several years ago, my sister Molly gave me a frame. I thought it was just a frame when I opened it, so I didn't open it right away. A little later, I opened it and realized it was filled with fun pictures of us as twins. Look at that chubby twin picture at the right! Isn't it awesome that I am a twin and I get to have twins? I always use that when I have to say something interesting about myself. Hello, DAVID Sunflower seeds, why did I forget you in my nightstand?! You make my mouth tingle from the salt but I love you anyways (and yes, I eat sparingly because I can't handle too much salt!) HELLO Abbotts circa 2003. This picture was taken in Wyoming if I remember correctly. Josh has 9 kids in his family and each family chose to wear a different ...

The Kleinmans Visit!

Image
Eric with Peter peeking in! Luke! Peter! Luke again- he is so cute! Peter! I didn't take a lot of pictures when our cousins the Kleinmans visited but these are some fun shots I took on Sunday when the kids had just finished a made up treasure hunt (to keep themselves entertained) and were eating lollipops and other treats. Kristen's boys are just adorable! I love them! And it was great visiting with Kristen and Nathan as well! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

What's Goin' On?!

Image
Happy Birthday, David!!! We love you! We're Moving!! Less than 5 minutes away. It all started with the weather getting warmer and warmer and me wanting a pool more and more. I figured as long as we can swim here 9 months out of the year, why not try for a pool? We also felt a little cramped in our home with 4 school age kids and a dog. So, I set my friend who is a Real Estate Agent out on the hunt for a house for rent for the same price as ours, but with a pool. Weeks went by and I didn't find anything I liked. If I did, the pool had no fence around it and to foster the pool has to have a fence. Finally we found a home that was close to the kids school, the same amount of rent and had a lovely pool- with a fence! It's an older home but that's okay. I didn't feel completely good about it then (and it had a July 1st move in date) so we didn't commit to anything. Then, our landlords sent us a letter saying they were going to up our rent significantly. That sealed t...

My Favorite Holiday- besides Valentines Day and Christmas!

Image
Right now my kids, along with 6 other boy cousins, are calming watching a movie on amazon (Ice Age 3) so I have a chance to blog. We've had house guests and life has been busy and fun! My absolute favorite Holiday- besides Valentines Day and Christmas- is Fourth of July. I don't know when my love of this Holiday started. I think it was the summer my family spent in Utah and we camped out next to LaVell stadium in Provo, Utah and my 15 yr old self watched the huge red and blue and green and yellow lights burst right above my head, all while listening to the awesome tunes of a live band. That was the best. My Favorite Fourth of July EVER. Other Fourths of July compete pretty closely. Last's years was awesome. Our friends invited us over for treats and fireworks and we sat on the hill behind their townhome and watched the magic while it started to rain. The kids ran around us barefoot and we laughed as we gathered umbrellas and kept watching. Then there was the 4th of July I ...

Family and Summer Fun!

Image
Making sand art! An outdoor craft from Family Fun! You put dowels into the big pool noodles and duct tape the others together. We came home from an outing to find that the sun had melted the duct tape off and it had all fallen apart! :( The red thing in the pic is a mister. Free Donuts at Krispy Kremes for National Donut Day! Yum! Asher! We're having a GREAT summer(despite the "I'm bored"s at 7:45 am and the heat-112 today!) How about you? This is my blog. Boys Baptism!

Image
Ethan and Jonah and us! Dad and Jonah! Dad and the boys! The whole family! My Parents, Amy, Cash and Quincy and us! Grandparents and us! Ethan and Jonah were baptized on a warm morning last Saturday- June 9th. My Parents and my sister Amy (with 2 of her kids) came into town for the event. It went really, really well! We had the boys pick numbers to see who went first and Jonah got to go first. He seemed a little hesitant about this, but was excited to get baptized! Afterwards we listened to piano music and then they were confirmed. My Mom gave a wonderful talk on being a chosen people and the Bishop surprised me by asking me to bear my testimony. On the drive home, I asked the boys how they felt after being baptized. Jonah said it was like having a hot pad on you and Ethan said it was like getting into the car on a hot day. We talked about how it feels when we feel the Spirit and it was a wonderful ending to a great event! Later that day we out to eat to celebrate. Of course, the boy...

Jonah's Rooster Jonah's owl Well, the sun is super hot here and we're just trying to survive! The boys are getting baptized this Saturday at 9 am (*time change) at the Stake Center. My Parents and sister Amy are coming into town and we are super excited! We are even getting the carpets cleaned for the event! I know- wow, huh? My sister Amy is bringing her 4 month old Quincy who we haven't met yet and I'm excited to hold and love on him! And her five yr old too! We also have 2 other nieces/nephews we haven't met yet either- Chloe and Brian! We'll have to change that soon! Recap of what we've done this week- *Went to see Happy Feet 2. Fun movie- loved the sound track! *Went to IKEA and bought a new crib since the State of Arizona won't approve cribs whose sides drop down- which ours does. Planning so far to take mostly newborns. *Went to see a reptile show at the Gilbert Library. Saw a collared lizard, 3 big scorpions, a Kingsnake, a flat kind of turtl...

What do you do?

Image
to tell your hubby that you are expecting? I have a black onyx statue of a Mother and a Baby. I got this at Christmas time the first year I was married. We were married in August of that year and we weren't even trying for a baby. Ok. So maybe we were, but we hadn't told anyone, let alone our Parents. I opened the gift from my Mother and what was it? A Mother and Baby statue. I was touched. It was a little bold, but sweet in thought. Twelve days later we found out that we were expecting our first little one, due in September. Maybe my Mother knew what she was doing. Now we use the statue as a sign that I am expecting. The statue has appeared on the coffee table (Elizabeth), in a diaper bag (Ethan and Jonah), in an e-mail (Joseph Asher), in the front foyer (our Angel Rose) and as Josh's desktop background (another sweet angel). Where will it show up next? This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott. ***I know that I have posted about this before, but it's been awhile, so I...
