Happy Days have come again!!

Image
Here are my thoughts for today: numbered. I am so happy! It's fun being mildly manic. Yes, I was diagnosed as being Bi-Polar on Friday. But hey, man, it's better than just having depression. With bi-polarness you get sad AND happy days- yay! See (www.bipolar.com) for more info on my condition. Thank you, Ellen, for coming and helping organize my home for three whole days! You truly have taught me how to focus on completing one task before I complete another. Now, if I can just find the cord to my camera, I can post some pictures of Anna on here- which BY THE WAY!!! Anna is a complete DOLL. She is adorable, sweet, mild tempered, loves to dance, walks a ton, says "mama" when she doesn't know where Ellen is, knows airplanes in and out, knows how to pop her own ears, makes a funny bllhhh sound with her tongue that she learned from Sabrina, her almost 3 year old cousin and looks adorable in red! She is so cute, she wins the baby contest of my heart- especially when she...

I'm still very manic aka- hyper- so I won't post a long blog post today. I just got back from the dr. They upped my medicine to 10 mg and cautioned me to avoid spending and avoid other things also. If you want to talk more about it you can call me. Also, at the dr.'s he called in a doctor resident and explained my whole case to him. I guess I'm not a-typical and that the resident dr. could learn something from my case. In other news, Ellen- Josh's sister has been here and has been a great help! Thanks, Ellen!!!! Jen Abbott-Paul will arrive at 5:30 pm at BWI on Monday and will leave on Saturday, March the 7th. So... no Disneyland for me yet. Maybe in later March or November. US Airways is having a deal that if you buy a ticket before March 5th and use it before November, then it is really cheap. Love, Megan

Smile!!! Asher, 3 months old For those of you who don't know- I was diagnosed with major dpression several months ago. I've been struggling with each medicine they have put me on: seraquel, lexapro, and of late ambien and abilify and finally they have got it right!!! or so I feel-zyprexa 5 mg!!! It's a bi-polar medicine. The lexapro "kicked" me into a bi-polar manic state. Yesterday I walked into my dr.'s office with no appointment and waited for two hours. He saw me at 12:45 pm and gave me the zyprexa. He offered no information about it. I grilled him "How long should I take it" 'It is only taken a short time, since it will cause weight gain and diabetes if taken for longer.' Good thing I asked! How long should I take it, I asked "a short time- say three or four days." When do I take it "at night 1 hour before bed" I took it last night a t9:15 pm. I was drugged to sleep by 10:15pm and slept pretty soundly until 7 am. It w...

less screen time

March 2007, Asher- nine months old Dear Family and Friends, Due to personal reasons, I will be limiting the amount of screen time I have on the computer. I want to only check my e-mail, facebook and blogs once or twice a week- usually Saturday or Sunday and maybe sometime mid-week. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call me at my home or on my cell, which I now usually carry with me wherever I go. Love, Megan

Potty Training Asher

This morning we are potty training Asher. I didn't plan on it, but then my sister Larissa, is potty training her not even two year old girl today, so I said "Why not?" I laid out three choices to wear this morning for Asher (30 months old): pull up, white plastic undies or 1.99 Ross undies that have footballs and glow in the dark. Guess what he chose? That's right the glow in the dark, now saggy baggy 2t-2t undies. Jonah and Ethan were very excited for him! Choose the glow in the darks ones said Jonah (4.9 years old!) I want some glow in the dark ones too, waaaahhH! cried Ethan. I talked to him, explained that it wasn't his potty party (let's make cupcakes mom- you have to make cupackes. Sais JOnah. Oh by, the way, Ethan and Jonah went to Child Find- speech and development therapists- and they are completely find and normal for their age! Which is 4.9 years old by the way, as told by their name tags there. So, I'm still manic. I went to Relief Society in S...

hola

Yesterday I went to see my psychiatrist. He gave me a one week-ish prescpition to abilify which I have never heard of before, but helps calm down manics like me. He asked me if I had any grandiose illusions or paranoia. I assured him that I did not. He said if you are manic (ie. very happy instead of very sad such as depression) that you will turn into having thoughts like that. It reminded me of the guy who kidnapped Elizabeth Smart and thought he was Jesus. Either he was schitosophrenic or paranoid. Also, a low dose of ambien for sleep. Unlike the abilify, I've been wanting some for a loonnngg time now and am glad to get it. I took 2 mils of ambien last night around 10:30 pm. Ok. Long story short. I woke up at 5 am and need to take two. I took abilify and it was me nausoues. I called my dr and later he returned my call, telling me to take abilify in the morning on a full stomach. Why do I mention all of this? I'm learning a lot and wanted to share it all with you. Love, Megan
