On Mitt and Obama

*Disclaimer- this is is just my opinion and not those of any other group or establishment.

(this is a political post so if you don't want to read it, please feel free to skip over this post!)

As I was laying in bed last night, trying to go to sleep, I happened to read something online that stirred my thoughts and emotions and began thinking of this year's election. I am conservative and because of that, I know without a doubt who I will vote for in November. I have been meaning to make phone calls for this person's campaign, but somehow I keep putting it off and I was trying to wonder why.

Last night, while pondering in my bed, I decided two things.

One- I haven't committed to making phone calls for Mitt Romney because I fear that he will lose. And if he does lose, will that time I spent in calling be of naught? Josh and I talked about it and decided that no, the time wouldn't be lost. It's up to us to do our part and then to "stand still and wait for the Lord's Hand to be revealed" (D&C)

Two- I am worried about the direction this nation will take if Obama wins. On one hand you have Mitt Romney- a righteous holder of the Priesthood, a man of God. On the other hand, you have Barrack Obama- a man who has very strong socialist tendencies. I never thought of it so clearly before. At that moment it seemed to me very clear. If our nation elects Obama, we will be going down a path that will not only be bad for us as a nation, but also more destructive. If the people of our nation elect Romney, we- as a majority- have chosen the good part and things will not only improve, but life will be better.

One thing that helped me see this was my experience in the school last week. As I talked with a few other aides in the lunchroom, they spoke of how their jobs provided insurance not only for them but also for their jobless husbands and their special needs kids. They worried about their insurance options next year and whether it will be offered or cut in the budget crisis we face. I said that they would probably have to get a new job with insurance and they agreed. They mostly work just for the insurance. I felt for those sweet kids with Autism who just may lose those aides that they need to function in a whole class setting.

So, when the issue came knocking at my door (the school my kids go to), my heart was softened and I yearned to help. To do something. Anything.

And so, I will be making calls for Romney. Phone calls are not my favorite (as all my family can attest) but it's something I can do.

Love,

Megan

Please forgive me if I have offended anyone. I didn't mean to. These are just my observations from my small corner of the world. But, yes, we will be supporting and uplifting Mitt Romney in the 2012 election.

So if you're all for Romney and making calls because of his better health care plan for people, where can I read about his health care plans? Health care is a big issue. Thanks,
Molly
