I'm addicted

Print this map out in color and hand it to your 6 year old boy. It will keep him busy for the next hour! If he is anything like Ethan, that is.

...to posting on my blog. I admit, I made it a goal, so I could feel like I was accomplishing something when I did it. Now I know. I'm just addicted and I can't stop blogging now. The quick fix of writing something and then seeing it there- in print- online, for the whole world to see. It gives me a thrill of pleasure each time I hit the publish post!

It causes me to neglect things. Not huge things, like showering, doing my hair (Ok- maybe my hair. A little bit) or teaching/olaying/laughing with my children, but small things like looking for that book my Mom asked to borrow or going to Target to buy that Memory Foam pad I am convinced will solve all my sleep woes.

So, now I must rescind my goal to blog daily. Can one rescind a goal? What do you do when you realize the goal that you made: ie. blog daily- one can't when one has no internet connection, or even power- which was our case for five hours this morning or for example, get pregnant this year, when neither is completely in your control to do so.

From now on I will stick with the goals I CAN accomplish- like read in my scriptures daily. That I can do. As for the other stuff, I will work as though everything depended on me and pray like everything depends on God- and it does.

This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Yes you can rescind a goal! But I do look forward to reading your daily blogs, and they can be as simple as a picture or a quote. Have you learned how to schedule blog posts? Then you could do it like once a week and publish everyday!
P.S. We have a memory foam mattress pad that we got off of Overstock.com for a really good price. We love it so much we are considering just getting rid of our bed and sleeping on that instead.
Love ya!

Yep...it is OK to rescind a goal..just like it is OK for politician's to "flip flop". That takes courage to say: wait...this is really not that great of a goal for me right now. Or wait...what I used to believe about an issue has change because now I know more!
Your blogging has blessed my life...so whatever comes my way from you, I am so grateful. You do have a gift for writing. Mom
