This November a very important issue relating to marriage is on the ballot in California: Proposition 8. This measure would change the constitution of California. "A new section would be added stating "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California." As it stands, the Consitution of California is not gender specific in terms of marriage and "As of June 17, 2008, marriage between individuals of the same sex is currently valid or recognized in the state of California" (wikipedia.com) A good blog to refer to is www.familyman-lloyd.blogspot.com.
It is extremely important that this proposition is passed in California. If it does not, it will legalize marriage between those of the same sex, essentially redefining the family. The family does not need to be redefined. It needs to be strengthened!
