On blogging from my phone

Image
I have just discovered the blogger app on my phone... Awesome! This is my view right now, as Declan crawls around me- pulling kleenex from the box (I let him), picking fingers in unlit candle jars, playing with my toy Miata cars. Just recently, this week actually, I did a social media fast for three day. This past Sunday Josh took Elizabeth to her first Fireside (talk) at Church. They learned all about how their bodies are Temples and how social media at times can really spread messages of the need to be perfect and to have the perfect image. 40% of people photoshop their facebook profile images. The two girls who spoke are on a campaign to get their message out there. Their message is that we are all beautiful and how to feel good about your body. Their website is Beautyredefined.net- check it out! And so during my three day fast from social media (not counting Pinterest- that's just being creative, right?), I learned a few things.  One: this is definitely a good thing to do. Not ...

On Wanting More Children...

Image
pic via internet Declan is 10 months old! Crazy how time flies by!  When he was just a newborn, the time seemed to go by so slowly. There was lots and lots of feedings and lots and lots of changings. Now, Declan gets by on 4 bottles a day and that many diaper changes as well- or more if need be! Now I am chasing after a busy bee crawling boy. I often let him crawl on his own, happy to explore, but he always finds his way back to me- pulling up on my legs and hugging them tight. He's such a cutie! And so, I would say, here comes that feeling- of wanting another one. Except that I had that a while ago. Now, I know this is crazy early and my baby is still a baby.  I know. I'm just sayin'. ***Any baby names that you like? We still have some that are our favorites. I dreamt last night that we had triplets and their names were Faith, Hope and James. We were sitting on a big bed in the middle of a black forest. I asked Josh- can help me feed these guys?  It was k...

And so,

Here is me blogging today. Declan is asleep (who is 10 months today!), the kids are at school (but will be home shortly), the dog is asleep (who is driving me crazy lately! Arizona weather, where are you?!), the fish is given away (should we get another one) and I am alone. On Sunday, every Sunday, our Relief Society (group of women), has a get to know you moment. I guess our ward *Church group* is so transitory there are new people each week! This past Sunday it was "What is your favorite thing to do?" I said Blog!- even though I haven't it done it much lately- like the past long while. But, it is! And so, like the warm weather drawing out runners from their cozy houses, these quiet afternoons will hopefully draw out my netbook and thinking cap and create more blogs! How was your Valentines? Mine was pretty good! Elizabeth had a 6th grade Valentines Day dance- eek! They learned all the different types of dances and practiced them at the dance. She was so cute- tr...

Lehi, Utah Pics

Well, the snow has all melted and it's been so warm here lately, but I promised some pictures of our new house- the outside at least- and I would like to document the snow so here they are! Now when you come visit you will know what to expect! Except, without the snow- even though it is so lovely for the first day or so!  Moving Day! (so cold and snowy)  Our View from the second floor- there is a park nearby with hills to sled on.  Icicles- the kids loved them!  Sadie settling in. And an Elizabeth in a snuggie in the background!  Our back yard. There are rock climbing things next to the slide- pretty fun!  The View from our Front Door  The Kids at Hale Center Theatre to see Uncle Ben's Hilarious Play "Is He Dead?"  I found this picture of Grandma Patty and my Mom while unpacking. It was sealed shut in a baby book but I have since gotten it out. So precious! Baby D in the snow! He loved it! H...

A Tender Mercy Christmas

Image
Yes, I do have pictures from Christmas. Yes, they are seriously adorable (I think!) but this year I think I will just share these. (I thought the pictures were on my real camera and couldn't find it so I couldn't post them but they were on my phone the whole time!). This year was a special Christmas for our family. We had just moved to Utah from Arizona the month before, our job at ASU was waning and we were living with family. We had explained to the kids that this year Christmas was going to be a little different. It would not a big Christmas, but it would be a special one with family. We saw many tender mercies **sweet kindness from the Lord** that Holiday season. The Church congregation we were attending delivered a basket of goodies along with a few gift cards to Wal-mart and a gas station (and a sizable gift card at that). We were touched and felt loved. Not only that but it  helped supply us with a supplies for our new home, snow boots for all the kids and a few ext...
