Ethan and Jonah are now graduated from Kindergarten! Wahoooo! Actually, I'm kind of sad. Where did the time go? With Elizabeth, everything was completely new and exciting. With Ethan and Jonah, I knew more about the curriculum, the school schedule, the field trips, volunteering, a lot. If the years go by faster with each child, then by the time we are done with our last one, the school year will be gone in a blink of an eye.
Let me tell you about two of the cutest twins around. Seriously, they are a-dorable. They are both blonde and blue eyed. Josh teases me that I married him to have blonde kids. It's partly true. The day I met Josh, I later saw him sitting under a lamp, the golden light sparkling off his hair and I knew that I wanted to know more about him. One marriage, 9 years and 4 kids later, here we are in Washington D.C. But that's another story.
Ethan and Jonah are identical. I can always, always tells them apart. Except for that one time when we gave them haircuts and they were naked in the bath and I told Ethan to turn around and it was Jonah. Josh can usually tell them apart as can Elizabeth and Asher. Not very many people besides us can though. Mary Abbott can, using a dot that is on Jonah's cheek. For their first birthday, my family pitched in and got them a DNA test. It came back that 99.9 percent of their DNA matched. There ya go. They are both also allergic to amoxicillin. As could be expected.
Ethan is the older of the two and bigger by a pound and an inch and personality. We tried switching their names for a day. I'm glad we didn't stick with it. We weren't going to tell who was the oldest, as I am a twin and a second born twin at that and hated it when people said I was the youngest- I was just the same age as Molly- thank you very much! Somehow the word got out and now they know. Oh, well. There goes that idea.
Ethan loves to collect money, write, climb trees, do anything physical, swim in the pool, play Funbrain.com and play with his best friend Andy.
Jonah loves to draw. He has recently drawn some amazing things for a six year old. I guess the art gene skipped me and went to him. Molly is an amazing artist and Kelsy and David go great things but all I could do was play the piano. Oh, well. I will scan some drawings in. Be prepared to be amazed! Jonah has always been my sweet son. Lately, he has been acting contrary to that but I know it's just a phase. He is starting to read a lot more and loves to do anything outside, especially climb trees and collect bugs, to my chagrine (Mom! he told me, "Why did you let that bug go?" "Um, it wiggled on my hand?").
I love Ethan and Jonah! My dream of always having twins came true with you two sweet boys.
