Christmas Update

Image
Goofy family picture 2009! Josh is at work late, so I get to blog! From the Blizzard of 2009 (dropping the most snow this region has ever seen in December- 25 inches), as it has been aptly named, we have gained a whole two weeks of Christmas vacation, instead of one and a half! The kids have had no school Monday, Tuesday and now Wednesday of this week. I was going to give the teachers their presents on Wednesday. Good thing they are gift cards and I can give them to them later. If they were treats, I would just have to eat them all and we all know that may not be for the best! In Christmas news, I've procrastinated a lot this year. It may be that Christmas is on a Friday, it may be that my kid's Christmas lists consisted of "something princess" "a robot" "surprise me (Jonah)" "candy, candy, candy, oh- and a toy skateboard (Asher)": i.e. not much to go on, or it may be that I just wasn't motivated! I've waited until today to wrap- ...

Oh, the weather outside is frightful!

Snow! Snow! Snow! 17 inches and counting! I just sent Josh out for the second time today to shovel- worried that if we wait- it will be too deep to even go out! I proclaimed today a "double-feature" movie day and broke out some old movies we haven't seen in a while: Wizard of Oz and Star Wars! Ok, so we have seen Star Wars, but it was what Asher wanted! We've munched on popcorn and sugar cookies and have been having a great day! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Getting better!

Image
Well, everyone is pretty much better! Jonah still coughs a lot at night and happened to give Josh his pink eye. We've learned from past experience that Josh can just use Jonah's same eye drops so that he doesn't have to make a trip to the Dr! Elizabeth's close friend just got glasses and I'm excited since if she gets glasses, she won't feel left out! We're gearing up for Christmas! Just staying at home again this year! We are planning a trip to California in June when school gets out, so that will be our next big trip! Hope everyone is doing well! Send those Christmas cards out or do one on your blog! We love to hear what you've been up to this year! Happy Holidays, everyone! This is my blog. My

Sick Kids

The kids have been coughing all week. Diagnosis: Elizabeth: Bronchitis, a referral to the eye dr. Jonah: pink eye, ear infection and bronchitis. Poor kids! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

We miss you...

"We miss you a Merry Christmas, we miss you a Merry Christmas, we miss you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!" Asher, age 3 1/2 This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Even and Jonah

I guess funny things happen when I volunteer at the school. The Kindergarteners were learning about even and odd and a little girl piped up: "Even- like Jonah's brother: Even." The teacher had to kindly reply: "No, that's Ethan. Ettthhhhan. With a "th" in the middle, not a "v" "Ohh...." Plus, I don't think Jonah's odd at all. Pretty funny! This is my blog. This ornament...

As we were decorating the tree on Saturday, the kids were saying the funniest things. Jonah would touch an ornament that had his picture on it and say "This ornament was brought to you by JONAH!" Ethan liked the game and would pick out all of the ornaments that are his- which are only two or three- and say "This ornament was brought to you by ETHAN!" All Asher could say was "This ornament was brought to you by PBS kids . org." Maybe he's been watching tv a little too much! Or maybe I need an ornament with his own picture on it! This is my blog. It's Snowing!

It's Snowing! It started snowing this morning and hasn't stopped since! So all you California folk out there enjoy your calm weather!I'm sure it will all melt tomorrow! I like the first snow fall, but after that, it's usually just really cold! We got our real tree this morning (in the snow!) and put it up this afternoon. Now it's really Christmas time! Happy December!

Happy December! We've put our little fake tree up already and plan on getting a real one next week! We hope to see the lights around the DC temple this Saturday! It should be fun! In other news, I saw New Moon with a friend. I've read all the books. The movie was pretty intense. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. It's been a while since I read the book, so I couldn't remember exactly what was going to happen. Then, I kept having vampire dreams. It's a fun movie though. Some funny kid sayings: "Is it sometimes-day today?" (like is it Monday, Tuesday, Sometimes day.) Me: "Who's poopy?" Asher: "I'm not poopy, I'm pee-y." He wasn't really but it was kind of funny!
