Asher + a ball = happiness

Image
We have recently re-affirmed the fact that Asher loves balls! He found a basketball in the gym at Church the other day and was so sad to leave it there. Here is a picture of him, right after he threw a football and said "take a picture!" He is also very verbal. He is 26 months old now and says full sentences. It's kind of funny, but I love usually knowing what he needs and wants. This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Kindergarten Artwork

Elizabeth brought this home from school yesterday. It's very cute. The picture depicts three of her classmates. She can't remember what their names are, but the first piece of school art displayed in our kitchen made my heart smile. :) This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Construction...

They are working on the road in front of our house. They've been working on it for several, several months now. I was planning on walking and picking up Elizabeth from school- but, I looked out the window and saw lots of men in orange vests pouring sticky black tar onto the street. Hmm...maybe I'll just drive instead! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Pics from Elizabeth's Birthday

Image
Here are some pictures from Elizabeth's birthday. We had the Abbotts over for dinner and cake on Sunday and then a small family party on the day of. She was very happy to become "6!" and be so big! Some funny quotes heard on Elizabeth's birthday were: me: "let's see what present is from whom..." Elizabeth: "Mine! They're all mine!" me: "no, sweetie! I meant who gave the present, not whose they are!" Yesterday, while working on a craft with Dad: Elizabeth: "Guess what, Dad? I have a boyfriend!" Dad: "You do?" (very surprised) Elizabeth: "Yes and he gave me some yellow flowers!" What do you say to that? Later Josh asked "Did you see that coming?" Yes, yes I did. She's a girl and girls often find boys to like- although four weeks into Kindergarten is pretty young! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

I have a daughter named Elizabeth and I love how she's such a girl. 39. I have always wanted to have twins. 40. I love sparkly things: diamonds, light prisms, anything shiny. 41. When I was little I was almost run over by a donkey but I prayed and was kept safe! 42. When I was little I was swimming with my eyes closed and ran into the side of the pool and chipped my front tooth. 43. I'm scared of heights: high diving boards, long drops from a cliff, etc. 44. I've always wanted to be a teacher. It's harder than it looks. 45. I've always wanted to be a Mom. It's also harder than it looks. 46. I like oreos, but mostly double-stuff oreos. 47. 248th Post!

Well, this is my 248th post! A new thing has started that you write 100 things about yourself on your 100th post. I guess I have to write 248 things now. No, don't worry! I won't do that! I don't want to bore you! But, I want to try this 100 things- so here goes: 1. I love the color pink, although I wasn't willing to admit it until I married Josh. 2. I love chocolate. Not dark chocolate, just any good European Chocolate. 3. I enjoy being around kids. They make me laugh and are always so sweet. 4. When it rains outside I feel like I can't leave the house. Elizabeth has even said "we go to school when it rains?" I need to get over this. 5. I like to have a few close friends- not a lot, but not too little either. 6. I have a big sweet tooth. I can eat five circus peanuts in one sitting with no problem. Jelly beans and candy corn are my favorites! 7. I know how to play the piano, but I need to learn new songs. 8. I know how to swim pretty well and really enjoy...

Yay for cousins!

On Friday Hilary- Josh's sister- called us up and asked if they could stop by in a few hours. She and her husband Dave and their four kids- Spencer, Tyler, Dallin and Brennan are back East visiting Dave's family- and us too. They were going to stop by on Tuesday, but we got to see them earlier. We didn't tell the kids, because we wanted them to be surprised! When Elizabeth saw them walking up our front walk she screamed! My kids were so excited to see their cousins and took them around our house right away. On Saturday we went to the Air and Space Museum, amidst lots of rain coming down with the approach of hurricane Hanna. We were fine, although some parts of Virginia got a little flooding. We loved seeing Hilary and Dave and are looking forward to seeing them tomorrow also! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Labor Day

We had a fun labor day weekend! Saturday consisted of me going to a baby shower and Josh spending time with the kids. Monday we got some things done around the house and went on two picnics! One with just our family and then one with Craig and Ellen and their family. The kids really had fun playing with their cousins. It's amazing to see what joy family brings into their lives! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.
