The weather has turned cool and Josh is staying late at work tonight. The kids keep themselves pretty well entertained, but I miss him! This morning I went to the dentist while a friend watched my kids. The dentist is never fun to visit. Bleh. Hopefully tomorrow will be not as tortuous as a visit to the dentist! Kristen sent me two wonderful books- The toddler Busy book and the Preschooler Busy book, each filled with ideas of what to do with toddlers and preschoolers. Thank you, Kristen!!! This is my blog. Gaithersburg has a small train museum in the Old Downtown area. I took the kids to go see it last week. They loved seeing the real, big trains. Inside the Museum was a small model train that went all through a miniature town. The kids raced around the track, watching the train go in and out of the tunnels. As for our vcr/dvd player- we took it in to get fixed. The guy said that it was not working because it was eating tapes and it may not be worth it to fix it anyways. I can see that. I would just like to get a nice stream of tv into our tv. That's all I really want! In other news, Josh's work bio is up on his website, www.wileyrein.com. Last Thursday we put a library video in our vcr/dvd combo, which we also use to get cable through. After I turned the video off and went to turn the tv on again later the video tape was stuck inside the player and we got nothing. No tv, no video, no dvd capabilities. The thing has been stuck ever since. I made a trip to Target on Monday to get a new dvd/vhs combo. They don't make our same one anymore, so the one that I got could not be hooked up to our cable cord- or anything for that matter! Wednesday I went to Target to get a box that would help. It didn't help. Yesterday Josh went and returned the dvd/vhs combo, but couldn't find one that we could still hook cable up to it. So, we've been mostly tv less, except for our small dvd travel player. The kids still watch it. They will watch anything! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Sorry for the lack of good blogs recently! I plan on getting back on track and blogging more often! Here's a picture of all four kids, hanging out after nap time. This weekend I was able to attend Stake Women's Conference. It was amazing. The classes were well taught, and the lessons learned inspiring. One class that I really like was how to provide Relief to yourself. The teacher taught about how we can use the learning process in our daily lives. If we experience something, we should step back and analyze it and then make a decision- we shouldn't just react to something in our lives- we need to ACT. I could definitely do this more in my life! I went to Counseling last Tuesday. It went well. Basically, she told me that I would never be as hard on my sister as I am on myself. I tend to be a perfectionist. Hope. Faith. More Hope. It keeps me going. This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Last night, while I was putting Elizabeth to bed, I saw a small black spot near her ear. Upon further investigation, I found that it was a tick! Josh came and used the tweezers and pulled it off. I love the Spring Time! The blossoms are blooming! The birds are singing! There is a huge tree in our back yard that looks like popcorn burst all over it! It's amazing. We've been doing lots of good things for Josh's birthday! On Wednesday Night, Josh and I went out to eat at The Cheesecake Factory. The food was really good, but the cheesecake was AMAZING! We shared the Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake, which was really more like pure chocolate heaven than anything! Last night we had the Craig and Ellen Abbotts over for dinner- lasagna, plus Ellen's homemade bread and chocolate cake! Tonight we will be going to the temple with Josh's Dad. This is a blog about my kids. They are sweet kids. Elizabeth is going to Kindergarten Orientation in a few weeks. She loves to read books to the boys. One book, that my Mom sent her, called "Hungry Thing", does a play on words, like the Hungry Thing eats "Boop with a smacker" (soup with a cracker) so she makes up fun names for other books, like "boopiter" for Jupiter, etc. Ethan is potty trained, although he waits until he has to go, to go. He loves collecting little cars and trucks and carrying them around with him. Jonah wants to wear big kid underwear, but needs more help, so we're waiting for a little while on him. He's a happy kid and likes to wear capes and dress up. Asher is adorable. He smiles and is happy a lot of the time. He's learning to climb up on things more. Last weekend we went down to D.C. to look at the Cherry Blossoms, which only happens for two weeks out of the year. The Japanese gave the U.S. these trees as a gift, and now they line the Potomac River. Very pretty! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

On Sunday, faced with an open day for Monday, I wondered what to do with the kids. I felt that we should spend a day doing some service. It would be "Service Day!". In the morning we went to Home Depot and purchased little flowers for our neighbors. In the afternoon, we wrote notes for them and colored. Today we will be going out and delivering them!
