Happiness

Happiness is trusting in the Lord and knowing that all will work out in the end. This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Families

Counseling Session #9: Families are for learning how to love each other. Whenever my co-dependency acts up, it's because I am feeling unloved, unappreciated. Now I know that I just need to remind myself that I am loved, that I am important, that Heavenly Father loves me. This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Potty Training, Two

Yesterday we started potty training Jonah. He had five accidents before 10 am and at 2:30 pm he said he was ready to stop trying. He had gone once on the potty and that was great, so I worked with him. Today, finding pull-ups in his drawer, he said "no, I wear underwear!" He has still had the same accidents, but he is working on it! We'll see how it goes! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Easter

Egg Hunt on Saturday! Yay! Dying eggs. Messy, but fun! Take off! Go! Go! Go! Asher searching for eggs yesterday. The three oldest (Ethan, Jonah, Eliz.) . Asher was crying. We had a good Easter. How about you? This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

How to...Motherhood

I'm learning that I need to make my own decisions on how to Mother. When do I potty train my son? When do I wean my baby toddler off of his binky? I've tried listening to experts and to family. Usually my family is right. But, sometimes, I know in my heart what I should do and that's what's right. It's been a great learning experience: learning to make decisions for myself. And acting on them. This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Easter, part 2

Well, we dyed eggs yesterday, so I guess we are planning on doing a hunt on Saturday and a little of the Easter Basket thing on Sunday Morning. Something simple. Everyone is asleep, so I will too- as our electricity went out last night and the boys and Elizabeth woke up, complaining about the dark. Such light sleepers! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Easter

Happy Easter Season, everyone! Yesterday, for St. Patrick's day, we put green sprinkles on our oatmeal and made green sugar cookies. I was going to do green milk, but we had no milk left! As for our day so far, our phone line went dead from some construction going on right outside our front window (which the kids love! Asher says "BIG Truck!), I took Elizabeth to the Dr. to fill out her kindergarten papers, but it turned out that she had a physical in November so she didn't really need another one. So, life keeps us hopping. I really want to focus on Christ more this Easter Season, than on baskets. Anyone have any good ideas? Let me know! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Blessings

I want to just share some blessings that we've received lately: 1. We've been able to pay off most of our credit card debt. Yay! 2. Ethan mostly potty trained himself (pictures to follow). 3. The weather has been warm and has allowed fun family trips on the weekend (even the park is great!) 4. Josh and I went to an amazing work dinner party recently. I have one WONDERFUL husband! 5. Our kids are all beautiful and healthy and happy. This is my blog. Happy St. Patrick's Day! My name is Megan Abbott.

I've been tagged! The directions are to post some of your all-time favorite pictures. Here is one. Asher's crying, so I've got to go. I barely have time to blog anymore! So, goes the life of a busy Mom! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Keep trying

I keep trying to post pictures, but I can't. I'll keep trying. Today I went to the temple, signed Elizabeth up for Kindergarten Orientation and picked up a school change form, since we live closer to one school than the other. That's it so far. This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Funny Kid sayings

Here's a funny kid saying for today: Asher: "Knock, knock" (I know he's only one, but he loves to say knock, knock!) Me: "Who's there?" Asher (grunting): "Poopy" I was cracking up! He did it again and again. This come from a household of three boys! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

National History Museum of Natural History

We went to the National History Museum of Natural History on Saturday. It was great to get out of town and into D.C. The Museum was very kid friendly and everyone loved looking at the giant life-sized mammals, etc. I'll try to post some pictures later! As for my video camera, I'll be returning it today. It just didn't work out. I plan on getting another one soon though! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Yesterday

Yesterday, I recorded a short clip on my video recorder, but then freaked out when the usb cable was not included with the camera. I thought it had no usb port whatsoever and I re-packed it up and took it back to the store. A member of the "geek squad" (at Best Buy) assured me that it did have a usb port, but no they had no usb cables left. I ran to Target, no usb cables either, but I was assured I could buy it on-line. Getting home, I found 48 usb cables on-line, not knowing if any go to my camera. But, I have high hopes. It's like finding a counselor or a webcam. If at first you don't succeed, you try and try again. This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

New Video Camera

Well, I did it! I withdrew my life savings from the Utah Retirement System and bought a digital JVC video camera. I've been wanting one of these for a while now! It gets to be mine, so I plan on opening the box and really figuring this thing out. It was scary for me to buy it, but like my motto goes: "Seize the day!' I have to go open the box before Asher wakes up. This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Counseling Session #9

After a long 40 minute drive last night in drizzling rain, I arrived to a dark closed door at the Church. A panic attack started- what if I had the day wrong- did we schedule for next week? What if I drove all this way for nothing? I picked up my cell phone and frantically dialed her number. Nothing. Then she came and phew, I was glad. It just goes to show, I am not perfect still and that she isn't either. We talked a lot about the "new, bold Megan". I wrote a letter to the problem Co-Dependency. She was very proud of me and all the work I've done so far. We talked about procrastination and how I procrastinated writing the letter and then even as I began to write the letter to Co-Dependency, it would speak to me: "You're not writing this letter good enough." "You are not a good writer." "Crumple this paper up. It's not good." Whenever I hear Co-Dependency speak now, I just say no! and do it. These are my three new tools for facing...

In like a lamb...

This pictures was taken two years ago, in Utah, but that's all the pictures I have for March so far! The weather was gorgeous yesterday! We went for a walk, and later had a picnic outside. Jonah was so excited about it that he happily stated "It's a beautiful day today!" and when I asked who wanted to say prayers over our picnic lunch, Jonah's hand shot straight up into the air. He was so happy! As for potty training, Ethan was sad this morning that he could not wear the same spiderman underwear that he wore yesterday. I had to explain that they were dirty, even if they were still dry. He had an accident at quiet time, but I knew that that would happen sometime! You can't do potty training without any accidents at all! Today is cool and cloudy, but I love the moisture that is just hanging in the air. It's very refreshing! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott. p.s. Laura, some ideas for your blog title could be "The Queen Bee and her advice on the...

Potty Time

So far so good, with Ethan in underwear today. I was nervous all last night. What if I have to change six pairs of pants and underwear? What if he complains like crazy? I told Josh that maybe I wouldn't potty train Ethan today. We talked and then he said, didn' t you write on your blog that you would? Yes. So, here I am reporting. This morning Ethan was excited to find underwear in his pull-up drawer. I told him when he getting dressed to put on underwear. He did. He was very excited about it. He told me he had to go potty, then went all by himself at around 8:30 am. Then, at 9:30, 11 am, 1 pm and 2 pm he went. All by himself! No wet pants at all! Hooray! Let's see how tomorrow goes! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.
