On Fathers

Image
Being that this blog has been a bit neglected, what with a one year old running around and all, Josh will most likely not read this post but I wanted to do a shout out. Here's me, shouting out from the Internet, how good life is with Josh as my children's Dad and as my husband. Babe, thanks for taking the trash out even though I know it's not your favorite. Thank you for changing the poopy diapers when I need extra hands- which has been a lot more often since you've been out of a job. Speaking of that, thank you for tireless looking for a job these past eight months. It hasn't been easy. It's still not easy. It's a daily struggle. Thank you. Thank you for asking me if there's anything I need before returning to your to do list. You are amazing! And now, the kids are chatting away- explaining Dr Who to me, so I should probably listen. I love you, Babe! Happy Father's Day! You are the Bacon of all Fathers! Shout out to my Dad and Dad Abbott as well. We...

Lately

Image
I love it when someone else's blog makes me want to write and write and write. A strawberry just growing in our backyard- yum! Lately- Josh found out that they haven't finished the hiring process for the Utah Legislative job. The director was on vacation- Summertime!- and recently got back. So, we back in a holding pattern for that job. Which is a good thing! Meanwhile he has found a job hunting skills seminar through LDS Employment Services and that is getting him out the door at 7:45 each morning. Always a good thing! Declan- is talking and walking and amazing us with his new found skills. He loves Elmo and sings along with a singing and talking Elmo that we have. He says Daddy, Ball, Balloon, Please, Hot. At night, during scripture time, he loves to yell and run and jump into my arms and give me a giant hug. It makes all of the baby chasing and cleaning up after him that I've done throughout the day all worth it! The kids- have their morning chores and reading and writin...

On teething

Declan currently has FOUR back molars all trying to work their way through. Two have finally made it and he has slept through the night last night AND the night before. It has been a long few weeks of dosing out ibuprofen and Tylenol morning and night. Poor kiddo! Ethan and Jonah finished their 5the Grade State Reports. They did them all at school- mostly- which I appreciated. Jonah chose Minnesota because his best friend from Arizona is from there. Ethan did Rhode Island. Their favorite part was learning about silly laws for each state like you can't cross the road wearing a chicken on your head! Good job, boys!

School is Out!

Image
School got out last Friday and we celebrated the end of a great school year. It was kind of a different one- what with the boys going to a total of three schools but they did amazingly well! They love this school they just finished at and had great teachers! The school had a big dance festival and each grade did a dance or two. Look at those blue skies! It had been raining that morning and we prayed for sunny weather and the clouds were whisked away! Blessings! We've been doing a little bit of water play, Making treats for the kids' teachers, Enjoying the mountains and  Going on Fathers and sons outings. Enjoying some classic Utahn shakes and Getting Arrow of Light Awards (for Jonah and Ethan). Not to mention a little pizza eating with Dad. It's been a great year and I am so looking forward to a summer that is not blazingly hot and a less painful (headache wise) as well. We have been so blessed  and are very thankful as well!
