Into the Desert

As the car,
Laden heavily w/ hope
Children, luggage
And boxes
Crossed the State Line
And into this
Arid land we now
Call home,
The future
Beckoned and
The bright sun
Settled in for the night.
We were in the desert
And I had
Returned home.
