On a greyer note...

In a way, Joseph adopted Jesus.

I injured my back on Saturday lifting some heavy boxes, so I have been immobilized today. This is good and bad. Good because it forces me to take a break and rest some- to think and to get organized. Bad because I am in pain and I can't get done any of the things that I wanted to get done today.

While Josh was off at the bank setting up our new bank accounts, I tried to be a little more productive and went online. I blogged about our trip (see future posts), I updated my goodreads (nice to see you again, my friend!), I sent messages on facebook and guess what else I did? I looked seriously into adoption.

It was scary, but I did it. I called up our nearest LDS family services and asked them point blank if a Mother of 4 with Bipolar Disorder such as myself was eligible for adoption through their agency. The very friendly lady on the other end informed me that once someone has 3 kids they can no longer use LDS family services. I didn't know that. I felt a door had been closed that could always possibly be open for us.

So I researched other adoption agencies that had a good reputation. It costs $17,000- $30,000 to adopt. Wow. That's all I can say. I knew it cost a lot to adopt. But not that much. It is cheaper to adopt children with disabilities but sometimes that is not an option.

If Heavenly Father wants us to adopt, He will provide the way. If we find someone we know who wants to place, without going thru an agency, it would be about $10,000- which is a little more doable. So, if you know of anyone who knows anyone who is thinking about placing their baby for adoption, let me know.

On a lighter note- You know it's HOT when-

The ice inside the freezer door melts together. 115 degrees here today and tomorrow, baby. No cool spell for us! No one has thermometers outside their window here like we did in Maryland. No one wants to see 115, that is unless you are driving in your car!

Lots of love, Megan

We keep thinking of you in the sweltering heat. Keep your head up, Heavenly Father always provides a way. Love you!

That is interesting I did not know that either about the 3 kids...I guess there are a lot of families that don't have any kids and cannot get pregnant that have priority which makes sense. I have friends who have spent that same amount up to $30k on In Vitro too so we are lucky to have been able to have kids of our own...God does have a plan for us and who knows what is in store for your family!
