Spirit Week

Each year the SGA- Student Government Association- throws a Spirit week. This year it was in the end of May and my kids just love dressing up for it! Here's this year's themes for the week-

Moday- Hat day. I didn't get a picture but all three kids picked out some crazy hat from our dress up box and wore it to school. They were careful not to put it on until they got into their classrooms though. It was a serious thing and they couldn't get over the "no hats" in school rule!

Ethan and Jonah for twin day!

Ethan and Jonah. Ethan has always been an inch taller than Jonah. Always!

Tuesday- Twin Day. Of course, it helps to have a built in twin. Ethan and Jonah decided to dress the same- in Jonah's colors- with red and denim. They were just so cute and Jonah even had two of the same shirts! I have no idea how that happened. Too bad that right before Jonah got into the car he claimed that he was hot and went upstairs to change. I couldn't convince him otherwise. He must have been worried about people getting them confused. They don't really like it.

Elizabeth had several offers to choose from of who to dress up like and ended up wearing a pink t-shirt with denim shorts. She dressed like Madeline, a good friend in her class.

Wednesday was a different color for each grade level- purple for second and red for first. I didn't really get a picture.

Asher getting in on the action of crazy hair day!

Thursday was crazy hair day. I twisted Elizabeth hair and the boys love spiking their hair. Too bad it fell later that day since they didn't put a lot of product in!

Friday was pajama day. Elizabeth loved this and was so happy not to have to get dressed that day. Jonah wore a tie dye shirt and comfy shorts and Ethan claimed that he had P.E. that day and could not run in pajamas.

Each day Asher would say "What day is it?" and proceed to do whatever his siblings were doing. On pajama day he wore his pajamas and I had to go to Target. It was pajama day and there was no stopping him. On the different color he wore red along with Ethan and Jonah.

Asher is such a funny kid. He has been out of preschool for four weeks now and it has been interesting to say the least. He feels that he is now entitled to all the tv that he may have missed while attending school and has been trying hard to make up for it.

This has led to hour/hour and a half long marathons of Backyardigans during quiet while I rest or blog. Needless to say, we're starting to instigate "No TV days" to get some sanity back into our lives!

A week of school left and then we are done! Then I will have a third grader and 2 second graders and a soon-to-be-kindergartner on my hands! I let the kids walk to school half way the other day and boy did they rejoice in their new found independence. When I asked Elizabeth if they got lost at all (they have to do a few turns) she replied no! and can we do it tomorrow too? Yes, please! Wednesday and Today have been scorchers and the boys t-ball practice was canceled because of the heat index. Wowza!

Hope you are all staying cool,

Megan
