Sorry I didn't post on Friday! Last Thursday, Friday and most of Saturday was spent watching my friend's 19 month old son Atticus while she and her husband were at the hospital having a gorgeous baby. Oh, my goodness is their baby just adorable! She is Mexican and he is White and they have such a cute little family. Little Atticus is adorable and very active and managed to keep me on my toes the whole time he was here. Since Asher is almost five, our home is no longer baby proof and I would follow him along, baby-proofing everything as I went.
Yesterday I took a 3 hour nap- I was so exhausted from the whole experience! The kids loved having him over and kept saying "when is Atticus going to wake up (he would sleep 12 hrs straight)" and "Can I sit next to him?" and "Attack of the Baby Atticus" when he would chase them! Our next child sure will be loved!!!
On the Horizon for our little family:
1. Swim team! I signed Elizabeth to be on our local swim team- The Whetstone Whales- and all 3 boys on the pre-team. Swim team is a big thing here in our town and there are actually 3 teams. I've been wanting to sign them up for a while now, so I bit the bullet and committed. It's every day for an hour for 5 weeks after schools gets out. So, that's what we will be doing this summer besides-
2. A fun little trip to Phoenix, Arizona for just Josh and I in the middle of July. This is for some future plans for our family. So excited to be traveling to the West for a little and visiting my Uncle and cousin who live there as well.
3. The Hill Cumorah Pagent on July 8th!!! I've been wanting to go to this for ages, as well as see the Sacred Grove, and we decided that it's better now than never. We just booked a hotel room in Rochester, NY for that weekend and I am just thrilled. For those of you who know me, I love New York. And what better place than Palmyra? Anyone else going this year?
4. MD Park Quest! MD state does a free Park Quest with games and activities at 25 State Parks. Entry is free into the Park and if you do 10 quests you are invited to the final celebration complete with free t-shirts and a chance to win prizes. We have yet to do one but are planning open weekends in which we can explore the grand state of Maryland! So fun!
5. Last but not least- the last day of school- June 16th, 2011! I am excited since the last two summers (which has been pretty much our whole summer-after- school-is-out-experience) the kids have had summer school but this year they won't (their school is no longer a Title 1 school). It will be fun to be a little relaxed around here. We'll see how long that actually lasts!
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods!
