Smile, Asher!

Image
Smile, Asher! Asher is so smiley, but when I pull the camera out he stops smiling and starts grabbing! We had a good time at our neighbors house. She has a four year old girl and a one year old boy and stays at home also. That's nice. I've noticed that things are way more expensive here. For example, I went grocery shopping yesterday. I bought almost the same stuff I normally buy and ended up spending $50 more. Why? Why is milk $3.50 a gallon? Why is bread $2.50- ok- that one's not bad! Why is the cereal more and everything more? We found out that one of the reasons they have all day kindergarten here is because both parents work and they cannot find someone to watch their kids for a half day after kindergarten. This is probably why everything is also more expensive. Both parents work, so both make money and have that money to spend on food. Plus they usually have only two kids. We have one income and four kids! It'll be a challenge to use our money well, but who doe...

Welcome! Come on it to our new home. It's been interesting posting pictures also, because I generally have to write about what the picture is and this picture doesn't really say much. So, welcome! Last night I went to our first Joy School meeting. We set up the schedule for September. I'll be teaching here in a week and a half, so hopefully our home will be ready enough for preschoolers! I printed out the two lessons I'll be teaching this morning. They are both fifteen pages long. For Preschoolers? No, it'll be a new experience for me and for the kids. Which is good! They'll be learning about their body in Septermber. Well, I have to go shower and put my contacts in. I can't see anything! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Refinishing Hard Wood Floors...

Image
Josh has been working on the hardwood floors of our living room and dining room for three days now. He rented a big sander and spent the first two days sanding. He had to try three different sanders in order to get just the right one. Then he had to use an edge sander and a corner sander to get the corners. It's been crazy and noisy around here. Luckily, he is putting on the three coats of finish today and we hope to be done! Tommorow we will be going to a a neighbor's house to play. It will be nice to get out of this construction zone! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Elizabeth and Kindergarten

Image
This picture was taken at Bear Lake this past July. Elizabeth did not get into Kindergarten this year. I'm okay with that. Now, I still get one more year of lounging in my pajamas until 9 am- which I am doing now. Also, Elizabeth and the boys will be one year next to each other in school. So, when Elizabeth is in fourth grade, the boys will be in third grade. That should be fun for them! Right now Josh is sanding our floors with a very loud and noisy sander. I will post pictures tomorrow if I can. We are settling into our house more. We recently got a new couch and we are working on setting things up. I have to go- Asher is pulling at my leg. This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Good Morning 2 You!

Image
Good Morning! Welcome to my new blog- www.pinkpanda2.blogspot.com . This blog allows me to add pictures, which is nice now that we have moved to a new city, have a new job and have a new house. Hooray for new things! Above is pictured my new kitchen. It has corian countertops (which require better cleaning than I usually do), nice cabinets, recessed lighting and a space big enough to fit our whole dining table. I love it! It need a little more light, so we added a tall lamp behind our table and that's just right! Stay tuned in- tommorow I will post pictures of our visit to downtown D.C. Hooray! This is my new blog.
