Concerts in the Park

Image
We went to the Concerts in the Park again this morning. They had a fun band playing and the kids enjoyed the music on a blanket. This picture is from last time, when they all got balloons! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Gambrill State Park

For Memorial Day we took a trip to Gambrill State Park, up near Frederick. The views were amazing and we were able to go on a little hike around the park and have a picnic lunch. We also went to our local pool, that had just opened on Saturday. The kids have been looking forward to this all month and they had a blast! Josh is now doing some work in the Northern Virginia Office of WileyRein. It's new and it keeps him learning! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Cabin John

All three boys playing at the Park. Jonah, being a spider in a spiderweb. This past week I took the kids to a really cool park called Cabin John Park. It is about twenty minutes from our house and has around five different little playgrounds. The kids had fun going from playground to playground, exploring the new sights. This is my blog. Concert in the park...

This morning I took the gang to a concert in the park for kids. The band- kiddopotamus- or something like that- was really fun and the kids had fun doing something new and different. Two of my friends from the ward were there also, so we had a good time being outside and being together. Everyone also got balloons and that's always a hit! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Kindergarten book

We got a kindergarten workbook for Elizabeth yesterday. She opened it up and was amazed at all the possibilities of what she can work on- colors, shapes, vowels. It starts off slow with just colors and shapes and moves into word recognition and vowel sounds. It'll be good practice for her! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

More Birthday pics...

Ethan, looking intense! Jonah, licking the frosting! Jonah, smile! Ethan, hooray for pirate gifts! The boys birthday consisted mostly of a family party- yummy food, cake, presents, good times! Some of their favorite presents were the pirate books and the pop up game. Thank you to everyone who sent gifts and cards! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Fathers and Sons Outing

Image
Ethan and Jonah, in the car, ready for their first Father's and Son's outing! Elizabeth, with the necklace she made during our "girls night in" party. The boys had lots of fun on their Fathers and Sons outing. It was at a satellite Bar-T-Ranch place near Frederick, Maryland. The weather was wet and rainy, but they were able to stay in a Yurt, a wooden tent-like structure that kept them dry from the rain. Josh did so well in taking care of the boys. He anticipated their needs before they arose and took care of them right away. What a great Dad! Also, we had a great Mother's Day! Josh and the kids cooked breakfast for me and brought it to me in bed. Later we had a Spaghetti Dinner that Josh cooked, with Strawberry Pie for dessert and cards and chocolate from Josh and the kids. What a marvelous day! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Here comes the weekend!

I am so excited that today is Friday! There are so many possibilities on the weekend. Tonight Josh is hoping to take the boys on their first Fathers and Sons outing. They still have packing to do- and some shopping for food- but hopefully they will be on their way- out and about! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Elizabeth

Here's a picture of Elizabeth, sans top tooth. She was excited to see what the tooth fairy left her this morning! I got a haircut this morning also and it went well! Yay for a little shorter hair! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.
Elizabeth lost her top left tooth today! It's been wiggly for a while now and she asked for an apple to help it come out. Sure enough! Out it came! She is very excited about it! I'll post pictures later! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Enjoying the weather!

Image
Asher- Happy Boy! Elizabeth- smile! These pictures were taken a little while ago, but I wanted to show how much our kids love playing at the park! This morning I called around for a babysitter and found one for Thursday, while someone from our ward cuts my hair. It's nice to have people willing to help me out from time to time! Hooray! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Azaleas

Closing the Y

Yesterday we got a letter in the mail from the YMCA . I skimmed over it, but didn't really catch it's message. This morning when I went to work out, we found out that it's closing! Well, it's turning into a center for troubled teens and youth. So sad. We were all trying to figure out where we can rent a space and run our step class from there. It is sad to let something so close to our home and so helpful go just like that. Hopefully we can find something! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.

Bubble Time

On Wednesday we made bubble pipes- from the Preschooler busy book. We put dish detergent in paper cups, stuck straws in them and blew away! The kids really got a kick out of it. We tried putting the straws in holes on the side of the cup, but that was way too messy, so we ended up just sticking the straws in at the top. Asher is a little too young for this activity, as he kept trying to drink it. It makes it hard to do some activities when you have a little toddler running around! But, he is just so cute! You gotta love him! Yesterday we took our portable dvd upstairs and had popcorn and a movie in "Grandma's Room". That was another idea from the Preschooler busy book and the kids got a kick out of doing something different! Even if it was still tv! This is my blog. My name is Megan Abbott.
